Cornerstone Acquisition and Management Company LLC has named Thomas Kim as Strategic Advisor to the firm’s fund development and operations division. In this newly created role, Kim will focus on the firm’s existing oil and gas royalty strategy and help provide fully customized portfolios to high net worth, family office and institutional investors seeking alternative solutions in energy-related investments. Previously, Kim worked for the Ontario Partners Fund where he directed the asset allocation and seeding initiatives for select hedge funds and private equity sponsors. Currently, Kim serves as Chief Investment Officer for Mansur & Co., a single family office based in Chicago with holdings in energy, commercial real estate, and other real assets.

Kim has more than 19 years of experience in investment management. For the last four years, Kim has served as Chief Investment Officer at Mansur & Co., a single family office focused on traditional and alternative investments with a special situations fund dedicated to opportunistic investments in upstream and midstream energy assets. Prior to Mansur & Co., Kim was a Managing Director for Ontario Partners Fund, a fund of funds with allocations to private investment strategies. Kim began his career with Bear Stearns & Co, in fixed income derivatives and with Motorola, in research and development. Kim received a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Cornell Univ. and earned a Ph.D. from The Univ. of Chicago. He is a CAIA charter holder.
